Here is a list of my 25 favorite sports uniforms of all time. Obviously, I'm biased toward the 1970's. And, needless to say, I'm not a fan of most of the new trends in sports uniforms. Each item in my list includes both home and road uniforms, unless otherwise noted.
1) The Houston Astros' "rainbow" uniforms of the 1970s (yes, they wore them both at home and away for several seasons, but those road "grays" they started wearing in 1980 were horrendous).
3) The Denver Broncos' "Orange Crush" home uniforms of the 1970s.
4) The San Diego Chargers' powder blue uniforms.
5) The Buffalo Bills' uniforms that featured the stationary, red buffalo on a white helmet. They most recently wore them as their "throw-back" uniforms in a pre-season game against the Redskins in August.
6) The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' original uniforms.
7) The Toronto Blue Jays' original uniforms.
8) The Philadelphia Phillies' uniforms of the 1970s (especially the road uniforms).
9) The Kansas City Royals' road uniforms of the 1970s.
10) The Houston Oilers' uniforms of the late 1960's and early 1970s that featured the silver pants and silver helmets.
11) The Jacksonville Jaguars' current uniforms.
12) The St. Louis (football) Cardinals' uniforms of the 1970s.
13) The New York Nets' uniforms that they brought with them from the ABA.
14) The Philadelphia Eagles' uniforms of the early 1970s that featured the white helmets and the green eagle wings.
15) The Cleveland Cavaliers' uniforms of the mid-1970s that featured the horizontal stripes on the sides.
16) The Phoenix Suns' orange and purple uniforms of the 1970's that featured the "half sun" on both sides of the pants.
17) The Los Angeles Rams' blue and white uniforms (before they added the yellow to their colors).
18) The Atlanta Hawks' uniforms of the early to mid 1970s that featured pinstripe trim and vertical pinstripes down the sides and around the waist.
19) The Montreal Expos' original uniforms (that "M" logo was so neat).
20) The Washington Redskins' uniforms during the George Allen years. Also, their uniforms with the burgundy jerseys, post-1978.
21) The St. Louis (baseball) Cardinals' road uniforms of the 1970s and 1980s.
22) The Utah Stars' (ABA) uniforms.
23) The Golden State Warriors' uniforms of the mid-1970s.
24) The New Orleans Jazz's uniforms.
25) The Detroit Tigers' home uniforms of the 1970s and 1980s (road uniforms were, and still are, hideous).

Top-level comments on this article: (2 total)Terry,How about:1) New York Rangers white uniform, currently the road uniform.2) Oakland A's green, gold and white combination of uniform, 1970's.3) Cincinnati Reds, home and away, 1970's.Thanks,JDJD, I'm not much of hockey fan, so I'm not familiar with the Rangers' uniform. However, if I had done 30 instead of 25, I probably would have included the Oakland and Cincinnati unforms that you mentioned. Both of those teams' uniforms really went downhill, beginning in the 1990's, like so many others (in my opinion).
no Chicago Blackhawks well thats a sin this is the first jersey list i have ever seen without the Blackhawks in the top 10 also the jaguars? really? besides that i like every one on the listLike I told JD, I'm not a hockey fan, so no Backhawks on my list. Sorry. But I'm glad you agree with most everything else.
