Beware of Bulk Order Discounts

Beware of companies that offer large volume discounts to the public, no matter what type of product they sell. That could be a red flag that they believe they won't get many repeat customers.

For example, let's suppose that a given company was selling one bottle of vitamins for $10, but was selling 10 bottles of those same vitamins for $50. That's a 50% volume discount, which is quite high. If they were confident that you would be a repeat buyer after purchasing just one bottle, they wouldn't offer such a high discount for 10 bottles.

In this case, I would go ahead and just buy one bottle for the $10 and see if I actually liked the product. If I did, I could always buy 10 bottles later at the discount. However, if I didn't like it, it would be better than having spent $50 on something I ultimately didn't want.
