What Happened to All the Christian Universities?

There seem to be only a handful of true Christian colleges and universities remaining in the U.S. anymore. True, there were countless institutions of higher learning in this country that were founded by either individual Christians or Christian denominations, and many still bear some kind of Christian name. However, most of them are still Christian in name only. There is no intelligible difference between them and completely secular colleges.

To be specific, their professors are just as liberal as those at mainstream academic institutions. These schools permit (although usually unofficially) consumption of alcohol on their campuses just like the others do. They officially recognize organizations that advocate abortion rights. They make no effort to discourage sexual activity on the part of their students. And some of them even cater to the demands of the radical gay agenda.

One upon a time, parents could have depended on these institutions to provide a wholesome, Christian learning environment for their college-age offspring. But not anymore – at least in the case of most of them. Thank God for the remaining few that have not compromised their Christian principles. May He greatly bless each of them.
